Tragically, a collision unfolded as the Nissan struck a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle traveling on the road's right shoulder. The impact had far-reaching repercussions, with both the Nissan and the Yamaha subsequently colliding with a 2008 Dodge Avenger motorcycle that had come to a halt at a stop sign on 13th Street. Following this chain of events, the Nissan veered, hitting a curb before entering a nearby parking lot.

The driver of the Avenger, identified as 30-year-old Kevin Wellington from Amityville, was pronounced dead after being transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip.
