Eight people, including a 14-year-old girl, were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on October 29 in Queens, as reported by WABC.
Just before 3 p.m. on that fateful day, a 33-year-old man driving a Hyundai Genesis, identified as Michael Moreno from Dutchess County, allegedly struck multiple vehicles and the teenage pedestrian.
Police responded to numerous 911 calls reporting the collision at 47th Street and Queens Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered the 14-year-old girl with trauma to her head.
Michael Moreno has been charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired, and refusal to take a breathalyzer test.
Eight individuals, including the 14-year-old, were transported to local hospitals with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
This incident marks a recurrence for Moreno, who was previously arrested in 2015 in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in the Bronx. Gabriela Aguilar Valinos, 27, lost her life while riding her bike home from work in the tragic incident. Moreno served six years in prison for the deadly hit-and-run.
