DUI TEEN KILLS 75-YEAR-OLD WOMAN IN FATAL ACCIDENT

On May 4th a 16-year-old driver, allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, attempted to flee the scene of a fatal crash on Long Island. Driving a stolen Land Rover, he rear-ended a vehicle on Middle Country Road in Centereach, killing Marion Napolitano, a 73-year-old woman.

Long Island 16 y.o. faces charges for DUI that killed woman

A deadly crash on Long Island occurred when a 16-year-old teen driver, allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, attempted to flee the scene of a fatal crash that killed a 73-year-old woman. The collision occurred on Middle Country Road in Centereach late Saturday night on May 4th.

According to Eyewitnesses News, the teenager was driving a stolen 2008 Land Rover when he rear-ended the woman's vehicle, causing fatal injuries. Both the woman and a 50-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where the woman tragically died due to her injuries.

Police said the young driver did not have injuries. However, the driver attempted to flee the scene of the crash but was stopped by an off-duty Suffolk County police officer. 

The 16-year-old driver now faces serious charges, including driving while ability impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, and the criminal possession of stolen property.

Police have identified the 73-year-old victim as Marion Napolitano. Meanwhile, detectives urge anyone with information about the crash to come forward and assist in the investigation.
